Los Cabos Billfish Tournament
October 12-16, 2010

TOURNAMENT PRIZES

LOS CABOS TEAM DIVISION
Tournament base-entry fee is $5,000 and not optional. Tournament base-entry-fee prize money will be disbursed accordingly:
* 25% goes to the tournament.
* 50% goes to the top three team-point leaders scoring one point per pound for marlin exceeding the minimum weights for blue, black and striped marlin (sailfish do not count):
Furuno First Place — 25%
    — IGY Second Place — 15%
    — Rick Bogert Third Place — 10%
If no qualifying billfish exceeding the minimum weights are caught, the base-entry money goes to the top three billfish release point teams. If only one qualifying billfish is landed the second and third place team awards will go to the fist and second place release points teams.  If two qualifying billfish exceeding the minimum weight are caught then the third place team award will go to the top billfish release point team.

* 15% goes to the largest marlin (blue, black and striped):
    — Biggest Blue Marlin — 5%
    — Biggest Black Marlin — 5%
    — Biggest Striped Marlin — 5%
In the event that one or more of these species exceeding the minimum weight limits is not caught, the prize money will roll over to the other species. For example: If no striped marlin exceeding 175 pounds is caught, the 5% in the striped marlin pool will be split evenly between the black and blue marlin categories.

* 10% of the base entry goes to the top three billfish-release-point teams. Eligible billfish for release points are blue marlin, 500 points; black marlin, 500-points; and striped marlin, sailfish and spearfish, 100 points:
Berkley Most Billfish Release points
First-place release points 5%
Second-place release points 3%
Third-place release points 2%

OPTIONAL JACKPOT DIVISIONS
All optional jackpot divisions are 99% payback. The tournament rules apply to all optional jackpots. Only teams entered in the general tournament may enter the optional jackpots. Only teams entered in the optional jackpots are eligible for jackpot cash and prizes.

        DAILY MARLIN JACKPOTS — 99% PAYBACK:
Daily marlin-jackpot fees are optional and consist of four different levels of participation. You must be entered in the lower levels to participate in the next higher level. Example: In order to enter level 3, you must be entered in levels 1 and 2. Jackpot entry fee includes all three days of fishing. For example: $1,025 enters the team in all three dailies at level 1.
* Melton International Tackle Level 1 — $1,025
* Penn Level 2 — $1,250
* Vanmark Level 3 — $1,700
* VEI Systems Level 4 — $2,500

The daily marlin-jackpot awards go to the largest marlin (by weight) of any species that exceeds the minimum-weight requirements caught each day. The daily marlin-jackpot prize will consist of one-third of the jackpot from each level. If no fish that reach the minimum weights on an individual day are weighed, the jackpot will roll over to the next day’s fishing. If on the final day of fishing, no fish that exceed the minimum weight limits are caught, then the final day’s jackpot money will go to the previous day’s winner(s). In the event that no teams in the daily marlin jackpot catch a qualifying fish, the daily marlin-jackpot entry will be returned less an additional 1% fee. Only teams registered in the daily marlin jackpots are eligible for cash prizes.

                  WINNER-TAKE-ALL MARLIN JACKPOT — 99% PAYBACK: $3,000
Teams must be entered in the general tournament to enter this division. The Winner-Take-All marlin jackpot will be awarded to the team that catches the largest eligible marlin in the tournament over the three days of fishing. In the event that no teams in the Winner-Take-All marlin jackpot catch a qualifying marlin, the Winner-Take-All jackpot entry will be returned less an additional 1% fee. Only teams registered in the Winner-Take-All marlin jackpot are eligible for cash and prizes.

KING SAILFISH MOUNTS DAILY BILLFISH-RELEASE JACKPOT — 99% PAYBACK: $750
The daily billfish release jackpot will go to the team that scores the most billfish release points during each day of fishing. Eligible species are sailfish, spearfish, blue, black and striped marlin. The pot will be divided three ways between the boats that score the most billfish release points on Day One, Day Two and Day Three. Ties between boats scoring the same number of release points will go to the boat that scores the most number of release points first. For example: If two boats score 500 points on Day One, the boat that achieved the points first will win the daily billfish-release jackpot. If on the final day of fishing, no fish are released, then the final day’s jackpot money will go to the previous day’s winner(s). If no billfish-release-jackpot teams release a fish, the release-jackpot entry will be returned less an additional 1% fee. Only teams registered in the daily billfish-release jackpot are eligible for cash and prizes.

If no tuna, wahoo or dorado are caught that reach the minimum weights on an individual day, the jackpot will roll over to the next day’s fishing. If on the final day of fishing, no fish that exceed the minimum weight limits are caught, then the final day’s jackpot money will go to the previous day’s winner(s). In the event that no teams in the daily Tuna/Wahoo/Dorado jackpot catch a qualifying tuna wahoo or dorado, the prize money will roll over to the other species. For example: If no wahoo exceeding 25 pounds is caught, the wahoo pot will roll over and be split evenly between the tuna- and dorado-jackpot winners.
